New single "Celery": • ALEX PILKEVYCH - Celery (feat. Adam Janzi ... Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2YdRJ... Facebook: / alex.pilkevych.official Instagram: / alex_pilkevych Bandcamp: https://alexpilkevych.bandcamp.com/ The purpose of this video is to post a friendly response to Glenn Fricker's recent take on Line6 POD HD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCC2-... The guitars were recorded by my father, check out his channel here: / thashaxe While we enjoy a lot of Glenn's videos, in that one we believe he pounded on the poor POD HD a bit too hard. Agreed, it cannot compete on par with tube amps, however, getting a decent sound from a tube amp also takes quite a bit of tweaking, e.g. in terms of proper mic placement. And getting a crap sound from a tube amp is just as easy as getting a crap sound out of POD HD or any other emulation-based guitar fx unit out there :) Our set up and settings are quite simple and did not take more than 10-15 minutes to dial. And to be fair, we used some surgical EQ and a tiny bit of reverb on the guitar sound recorded out of the POD HD. There's no intention to claim our sound is better or just as good as on Glenn's video, but hopefully it is not too far off. So spending around 250 bucks on a used POD HD would not be such a bad idea especially for someone on a tight budget looking for an all-in-one guitar fx unit and an audio interface for home recording, which can also be used for rehearsals and small gigs (with a 100$ foot controller) all fitting easily in a small backpack :)
