SOUNDBITE (English) Jimmy Carter, Former US President : "Well I always explain to the class where I've been the last couple of weeks, I missed two lessons because toward the end of May, the first of June it was found that I had cancer so they removed part of my liver and I think they got all the cancer from my liver but then we had another MRI and it showed up in four places in my brain and so this Thursday they treated that with radiation and I'm taking some additional medicine to stimulate my auto-immune system to fight against the cancer so I don't have any other radiation scheduled but I have four sessions of supplemental medicine and it takes about a half an hour to get an IV so that's enough on that subject. So I'm back now and I intend to keep on teaching here at Maranatha as long as I'm able and I'm going to cut back a good bit, this gives me a good excuse to finally do it, I work at the Carter Center. We've been working, Rose and I have full time, despite our advanced age and I think a lot of people are waiting for me to kind of step down to give them a new chance so this will be a good opportunity for that but I intend on continuing my work as a professor at Emory University and do the things I have to do at the Carter Center." 3.
