House of Mosaic is a hotel in Aruba promoting itself as a gay friendly establishment. House of Mosaic is a unique place with Local Art & Antiques. We organize meetings, special events and weddings. Our company has been a designer of special events since 1994 and we are passionate about what we do. House of Mosaic occupies land now called Eagle. Its history undoubtedly rests on its owner, Fernando Mansur. This land belonged to the Arend Petroleum Maatschappij (Eagle Petroleum Company of the Royal Shell group) and was exploited from 1927 to 1953. The Arend played a key role in the supply of fuel to the Allied armies during the Second World War during the invasion of June 6, 1944. As a result, our island was torpedoed by the Nazis during the war! None of the torpedoes intentionally exploded. Fernando’s mother, Marjorie Henriquez-Mansur, witnessed one of the submarines that submerged, intending to bomb the island. It is said that the captain visited our island before the war and could not support the bombing of the children ... because they could have come from people who were tested during his trip. The submarine backed out without launching a torpedo.
