Sung and unsung heroes, local and national, shared their diverse gifts with an inspired audience at TEDxTughlaqRd. TEDxTughlaqRd followed the celebrated TED format of brilliant curation, multidisciplinary talks and performances and power packed sessions of 'ideas worth spreading.' Sinu started work on Menstrual Hygiene awareness in 2010, along with my colleague and friend Vyjayanthi. As a Menstrual Hygiene educator, she's reached out to over 6500 adolescent girls from government schools across Karnataka, and women from rural backgrounds. She's also an Advisory Trustee for The Forward Foundation an NGO promoting sustainable livelihoods & water management. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
