In Pakistan, begging has become a heartbreaking reality for many, and the rising number of people forced into this cycle deeply troubles me. It hurts to see them trapped in a life without dignity. I want to help them break free from that life and earn with respect. Growing up wasn’t easy. With emotionally unavailable parents, I faced pain and hardship that shaped me profoundly. Over time, I healed and found peace, gaining a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me. This healing allowed me to embrace a quiet, reflective life, where empathy became my greatest strength. It’s my guide and compass, helping me observe, reflect, and find ways to support others. This journey inspired me to co-found Jobsha. The idea started simply: even without a car, bike, or tools, people still have themselves. They can offer house help, assist with chores, or take on odd jobs to earn a living. I believe even small earnings can spark confidence, helping individuals feel capable again. That confidence can heal families and strengthen relationships. Currently, I am building my freelance business as a product designer, focusing on creating user-friendly websites and mobile applications. My journey has been shaped by my previous roles. As an industrial design studio instructor, I taught design principles and mentored students to solve problems creatively. And my experience as a product designer in the FinTech industry sharpened my skills in user research, project management, and building practical solutions. These roles, along with my Google UX Design certification, have reinforced my belief that good design improves lives. Learning service design will help make Jobsha a reality—a platform that helps people earn with dignity and confidence. It will also expand my ability to create complete solutions that connect systems, user needs, and real-world challenges. Personally, it will deepen my commitment to creating meaningful change, aligning with my values of empathy and supporting communities in need. To conclude, my expectations of SDSI go beyond just gaining knowledge—it’s about turning help into reality. This isn’t just an idea; it’s personal. I know what it feels like to Beg for what you need, and I want to create a world where fewer people experience that pain. By learning from experts and working with like-minded peers, I hope to grow into a designer who can turn empathy into practical, life-changing solutions.
