Something that I strive to do with nearly all my fly tying, is to generate Silhouette Counterparts within similar material sets. Now fish silhouettes can be as accurate/complicated as you'd like to make them, but for the most part they are easily simplified. The purpose of this fly is a simple adaptation to the Pheasant Rump Baitfish pattern allowing us to more accurately imitate low water column species such as Sculpin and Gobies, and is a perfect example of a silhouette counterpart.
