ചലച്ചിത്രനടനും ടെലിവിഷന്‍ അവതാരകനുമാണ് ജയരാജ് വാര്യര്‍. ഉണ്ണികൃഷ്ണവാര്യര്‍, വിലാസിനി വാരസ്യാര്‍ എന്നിവരാണ് മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍. 1982ല്‍ അമേച്വര്‍ നാടകരംഗത്ത് പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ച ജയരാജ് വാരിയര്‍ 1984 മുതല്‍ ഏഴു വര്‍ഷം ജോസ് ചിറമ്മലിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള റൂട്ട് എന്ന തിയറ്റര്‍ ഗ്രൂപ്പില്‍ നടനായിരുന്നു. വിശാഖദത്തന്റെ മുദ്രാരാക്ഷസം, ബാദല്‍ സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ ഭോമ, ഉല്‍പ്പല്‍ദത്തിന്റെ സൂര്യവേട്ട, വോള്‍സോയിങ്കയുടെ ചതുപ്പില്‍ പാര്‍ക്കുന്നവര്‍, ആനന്ദിന്റെ ശവഘോഷയാത്ര എന്നീ നാടകങ്ങളില്‍  അഭിനിയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.  കാരിക്കേച്ചര്‍ ഹാസ്യ രംഗത്തുള്ള  വ്യക്തികൂടിയാണ് ജയരാജ്. 1991 മുതലാണ് 'കാരിക്കേച്ചര്‍ ഷോ' എന്ന പുതിയ ആശയവുമായി കേരളത്തിന് അകത്തും പുറത്തുമുള്ള ആയിരക്കണക്കിനു വേദികളില്‍ ജയരാജ് ഏറെ ശ്രദ്ധേയനായത്. 2003 ജൂലൈയില്‍ കേരള നിയമസഭയില്‍ ജനപ്രതിനിധികള്‍ക്കായി അവതരിപ്പിച്ച കാരിക്കേച്ചര്‍ നിയമസഭയുടെ ചരിത്രത്തിലെ ആദ്യ സംഭവമായി. ഒരു യാത്രാമൊഴി, ഭൂതക്കണ്ണാടി, കൊച്ചുകൊച്ചു സന്തോഷങ്ങള്‍, നെയ്ത്തുകാരന്‍ എന്നിവ അഭിനിയിച്ച ചിത്രങ്ങളില്‍ ശ്രദ്ധേയമാണ്.  പുരസ്‌കാരങ്ങള്‍. He crafted unforgettable classics such as Thazhvaram, Chamaram, Amaram, Vaisali, Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam, and Kattathe Kilikkoodu. Each film stood out for its deep characters, soulful music (often collaborating with composer Johnson), and bold narratives far ahead of their time. Bharathan was also a master editor, art director, and painter—an all-round artist whose attention to detail elevated every frame. His works explored love, loneliness, morality, and the complexities of human relationships with unmatched sensitivity. Even decades after his passing, Bharathan remains a timeless inspiration in Indian cinema—celebrated as a creator who turned films into unforgettable works of art.
