This was the last-ever regularly-scheduled, revenue flight of a legacy McDonnell Douglas aircraft in US history. Not only that, but this was also my final flight on an MD-80. This bird continued on to Blytheville, Arkansas (BYH) after we got to Atlanta, making that the final Delta MD-80 flight in the books. N900DE here was the 100th MD-80 delivered to Delta in March 1992, accumulating almost 54,000 cycles (takeoffs and landings) in its lifetime. Long live the Maddog/Super-80, thanks for everything and you will be incredibly missed! I love the sound of the slats extending/retracting!
