Brian Johnson, of Herald Records recalls: "The Vatican event, where Mary also personally met the Pope in his private residence hall near his study, together with the Schola and the recording engineers happened on the Friday April 18th 1997 at 11am during the week while we were recording at San Gregoriano in Rome. Interestingly we had no knowledge this Mass was to happen. Fr Alan Dustan some how how found out we were in Rome recording Music for Augustine, I received a telephone call from him on the Thursday morning 17th April 1997 asking whether we could all sing for and attend this huge event in the Vatican on the Thursday evening. The event was really for around 300 wealthy Americans who had raised some 35 million dollars to restore the "Nicolina" chapel in the Vatican. It was truly amazing, not only did we sing for this event, but were also invited to attend a champaign reception in the Scriptorum together." ℗ Vatican Photography
