Today’s guest is Victoria Brewer, MA, NCC, LCMHC-A. Here is some background on Victoria: “I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of North Carolina. I see clients in person as well as via telehealth. I specialize in working with clients in the LGBTQ community and really love working with anxiety disorders.” In this episode, Victoria discusses why she chose to become a therapist, how the structure of her grad school program helped her develop her clinical skills, and how outside supervision helped her grow as a clinician. Victoria was candid about the red flags she noticed in her first job out of grad school that led to her leaving abruptly to start her own practice. She also covers what the differences are between W2 employees and 1099 independent contractors, as well as what an NPI number and CAQH profile are.
