316LN ConFlat Flanges For Sensitive UHV Applications

ANCORP’s 316LN austenitic stainless steel CF flanges are produced for critical ultra-high vacuum (UHV) and extereme high vacuum (XHV) applications where low magnetic permeability is required. 316LN CF flanges are machined from Electro Slag Remelt (ESR), low carbon, nitrogen enriched material. During production of the material a secondary refining process is utilized further eliminating impurities while increasing the final quality of the stainless steel. They feature a vacuum rating of 1×10-13 Torr and a temperature range of -200°C up to 450°C. The nitrogen-enriched chemical makeup of 316LN ensures that weldability remains high while magnetic content is greatly decreased. As a result of the additional refining process 316LN also possesses an increased resistance to heat hardening so it is possible to use at higher temperatures.
