A journey fueled by passion, teamwork, and innovation. Amrit Subramanian, Kottakki Srikar Vamsi, Chukka Navneet Krishna, and Surya Santhosh Kumar, four brilliant minds from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, made history at HackHarvard 2024, the world-renowned hackathon hosted by Harvard University. 1,000 participants from 22 countries gathered to tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges using technology. But for our students it was more than just a competition—it was an opportunity to make a difference. In 36 hours of relentless coding, brainstorming, and innovation, they created Sustain-ify, an AI-powered app that empowers users to make more sustainable choices. From eco-conscious shopping suggestions to upcycling ideas for everyday waste, their app became a beacon of how technology can be a force for good. Despite being surrounded by top-tier institutions, these young minds from Amrita stayed focused, driven by a shared passion to create solutions for a more sustainable world. The result? Amrita's students emerged victorious, winning the All-Track Grand Prize at HackHarvard 2024. This marks a historic moment for Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, as the first Indian university to ever claim this honor since the hackathon’s inception in 2015. Their win is a victory for India and for every young innovator who dares to dream big. #HackHarvard2024 #ArtificialIntelligence #Coimbatore #AmritaVishwaVidyapeetham
