In this powerful and timely Bible Study, Reverend Dr. Rena Morrow walks us through Daniel 4:28–37 (NIV) and reminds us that no empire—ancient or modern—is ultimate. King Nebuchadnezzar, intoxicated with pride and self-glory, declared his own greatness. Yet in a moment, God interrupted his power and allowed him to lose his sanity until he acknowledged that “the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth.” Daniel lived under an empire that attempted to rename, redefine, and redirect him. Babylon could change his environment, but it could not change his covenant identity. When Nebuchadnezzar lost his mind, Daniel did not—because his stability was tied to the One who truly rules. This message speaks directly to our generation. Empires rise and fall. Political systems shift. Cultures attempt to redefine identity. But the Highest still rules. Restoration for Nebuchadnezzar did not begin with rebuilding his kingdom—it began when he lifted his eyes toward heaven. Sanity returned when perspective shifted. Likewise, when we renew our minds and acknowledge God’s sovereignty, we regain clarity, peace, and strength. Black History Month reminds us: our ancestors endured chains, Jim Crow, segregation, and systemic injustice—but their hope was rooted in the unchanging truth that God reigns. When empires lose their minds, the people of God must not lose theirs. 📜 Key Bible Verses Daniel 4:28–37 (NIV) Daniel 4:34 – “At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored.” Romans 12:2 – “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Philippians 2:10–11 – “Every knee shall bow… and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” Psalm 121:1 – “I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from?” 🙏 Invitation to Salvation If this message touched your heart, remember the ABCs of salvation: A – Admit that you are a sinner B – Believe that Jesus died and rose again for you C – Confess that Jesus Christ is Lord For salvation, restoration, or church affiliation, visit: 👉 sbc.org/join 🔔 Stay Connected Follow us on: • Website – https://thesbc.org • Facebook – Sharon Baptist Church • Instagram – @thesbcphilly • YouTube – Sharon Baptist Church of Philadelphia 💝 To Give / Make a Donation Online – https://thesbc.org/giving Text – Text “give” to 610-379-3818 Mail – SBC Business Office 3955 Conshohocken Ave Philadelphia, PA 19131 📣 Don’t Forget!
