After decades of speculation, Matteo JWHJ0715 and Martin Scorsese, the duo behind the acclaimed film collective 'Matteo & Martin', confirmed, via satellite, the re-release of their magnum opus Goncharov (1973) by unveiling it's new trailer last week at the 75th Berlinale. The new trailer celebrates the film's 52nd anniversary. It includes never-seen-before footage which filled the air with excitement and left the Berlinale audience wondering whether the mysterious director's cut might finally be seeing the light of day. Chosen as the opener of this year's Cannes Film Festival, Goncharov (1973) will be given a limited release across the world in December. Though the locations haven't been disclosed yet, it is widely believed that the film will be released in Naples with the tagline: Goncharov comes to Naples! It remains to be seen whether the director's cut is the one that is released.
