In this video, I will demonstrate how Jesus spoke of resurrection not of a physically dead person but of the living whom he would "raise up" at the last day. So many are confused about the resurrection, especially in light of the very clear and simple teaching of Christ who said, "I AM, the Resurrection and the Life. See more on this at www.allthingfulfilled.com. Yet, many want to make resurrection to be the transformation of a hunk of dirt from the grave or beyond the grave. Almost every time Jesus is misunderstood especially in the gospel of John, he is focused on the spiritual realm and spiritual things while their minds are yet focused on physical things. The preoccupation with physical bodies beyond the physical world grows out of Gnosticism and the belief that in some manner the body is evil and inherently sinful. This is untrue. Man is adapted to the world in which he lives; he is determined by his world. The physical world determines his physical existence, the covenantal world determines his covenantal existence, the spiritual world determines his spiritual existence. The problem occurs when we fail to distinguish between them. I encourage you to study this video carefully because it addresses a key and primary issue of the resurrection not only in futurism but in many preterist circles also. Some do not understand how to reconcile the "already realized" eschatology of C.H. Dodd in connection with Jesus' death and the "not yet eschatology" of Albert Schweitzer, both of whom were key scholarly figures in recognizing the tension and pull of the two paradigms, but neither offered the total solution. As a result, men have come to believe in two resurrections of two separate natures for the living, one spiritual and one physical and a split resurrection between the living and the dead in essence, Christ is not "the one and only resurrection" in their train of thought. We may do a follow up sequel to this video (if time, space, motivation, inspiration and personal effort is there) to expound further on its implications.
