Costa Teguise Lanzarote, Breakfast, Bars & Beer in the Sun Technically, I arrived in Costa Teguise Lanzarote the night before, but this is Day One on camera. And what a first day it turned out to be. What started with breakfast and a wander turned into a seven hour hunt to surprise my parents, a spontaneous singalong, and waking up next to a kebab I never touched. I flew in from Leeds Bradford Airport for a solo trip and decided to surprise my parents, who were arriving the next day and staying at the Hotel Grand Teguise Playa, completely unaware I was already on the island. This isn’t a big reunion video, it’s just me doing what I normally do, exploring, trying local food, chatting to strangers, and letting the day take shape. The surprise was just a bonus moment. The morning began with a much needed pair of sunglasses, a reminder that hydration matters, and breakfast at The Cutty Sark. I spent most of the day checking hotel lobbies, hanging around pool bars, and sitting in various spots hoping they'd wander past. Around 2PM, I stopped at The Snug Bar in Pueblo Marinero for a break and sat at a shared table. Ended up chatting to a brilliant Irish couple. A few beers, a good laugh, the kind of moment that makes solo travel what it is. At about 7PM, I finally spotted my parents and surprised them properly. We kicked things off with drinks in Pueblo Marinero square, which is full of bars and restaurants (many are cash only, so come prepared). A few rounds later, we headed to Kalima Chill Out, a laid back bar. Great cocktails, good service, free nuts on the table, and perfect for people watching after a long, warm day. Instagram:   / kalima-chill-out   On the walk back to their hotel, music drifted out from a nearby bar, and it was my parents who kicked off a spontaneous Bay City Rollers singalong to “Shang-a-Lang”. Naturally, I joined in. One of those moments you just can’t plan. The weather was warm but windy and overcast, so apologies for the wind noise in parts. I stayed at the Nautilus Apartments, booked via Booking.com. It had an excellent view and a great base for exploring Costa Teguise on foot. Later that night, I grabbed a kebab… and woke up the next morning with it still next to me in bed. Untouched. That pretty much sums up the day. It’s a day I’ll never forget and not because everything went smoothly, but because life’s about having fun, saying yes, and laughing your way through the chaos. I filmed over three days in total, so there’s more to come, with more from Costa Teguise, a full day in Puerto del Carmen, and plenty of food and drink along the way. It’s just me being me. I absolutely love making these videos and want to make so many more… but I can’t exactly fly to Lanzarote every week (as much as I’d love to).
