ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR A DOCTORAL PROGRAM NB: Please check on the website of the course you choose because the eligibility criteria differ. Doctoral education is a post graduate training. According to the Universities Act (558/2009, 37§), applicants for doctoral training must have completed 1. a relevant Master’s degree awarded by a university; 2. a relevant Master’s degree awarded by a university of applied sciences; or a relevant applicable study programme abroad which in the awarding country gives eligibility for the corresponding level of higher education. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Applicants must demonstrate sufficient language skills of Finnish or English. Doctoral degree programmes follow the University of Oulu's general guidelines on language requirements: The language test scores follow the same limits as for the University of Oulu Master's selection. No language test is required if the applicant has completed his/her secondary education in English in an EU/EEA country, the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand or Switzerland.
