Helo everybody, Today I'm unboxing ASUS B350-PRIME MOTHERBOARD. As you guys may know AM4 Motherboards are quite hard to find, especially X370 ones, I got this 2 Weeks after I ordered it. I haven't brought the CPU yet, Ill be buying Ryzen 1700, i will upload a proper review once I get everything. So, Ryzen CPUs can have 3 chipsets, A320, B350 and X370. A320 is the budget chipset, B350 is the mainstream chipset and X370 is the enthusiast chipset. The only major different between B350 and X370 is that you cannot SLI NVIDIA cards in case of B350 because of bandwidth limitaitons however, CrossFire will work fine. Both X370 and B350 Chip sets are capable of Overclocking, I will also upload an OC guide once I get the CPU. A320 Chipset cannot overclock and is thus suited for the price conscious people. The box includes the motherboard itself, two SATA Cables, one Right angled and other straight, IO Shiel a quick start guide and an user guide. Lets talk about the rear IO, it has 2 USB 2.0 Ports, A PS/2 Port, VGA, DVI-D and HDMI , keep in mind this cannot be used as Ryzen CPUs do not have any Integrated GPUs, you'll have to plug cable into your GPU instead. Two USB 3.0 Ports, Two USB 3.1 Ports, the difference being that USB 3.1 supports upto 10Gb/s compared to 5Gb/s for USB 3, A Realtek LAN , Line IN, Audio Output and Mic Input. Lets talk about front IO, it features 2x usb 3.0 Front Jack and 4 USB 2.0 Front jack and of course the HD Audio and Front panel Connectors. The board also features RGB Lighting near the audio trace. Unfortunately I cannot turn it on . Lets talk storage, this board features a M.2 Slot which supports both SATA and PCIe mode. M.2 Slot is wired for PCIE 3.0 X4 so it can transfer at upto 32Gbit/s however you are more likely to be limited by the drive than the PCIe. It also has 6x SATA 3 6Gb/s Ports which supports RAID 0,1 or 10 and I think thats it for storage. RAM Support. The box says it supports 4 Sticks ie upto 64GB at upto 2666Mhz. No ECC Support but thats to be expected on a budget board, Various reviews claim that this motherbord supports only upto 2400Mhz at max and has issues with some RAM Sticks, I do not know since I haven't tested it. A major con I found on this motherboard is the lack of 4Pin FAN headers, there is only 3 oF them in the entire board not including the CPU Fan. PCI Express, it features, 1x PCIe 3.0 16x but it can vary because different CPUs have different PCI Lanes. One PCIe 2.0 X16 slot unfortunately it only runs at max x4, two mini PCIe 1x slot and 2 PCI Slots. Why are there PCI Slots on a motherboard in 2017, i dont know. I think thats about it, I will do a deep review once I get the CPU but until then, Thanks much for watching.
