This is a wild, time-consuming, extremely simple nymph. This one in particular is one I like to tie to represent hellgrammites. If you have the time, this is the way to go to imitate them, with a buggy look and all kinds of movement. However, it is very time-consuming, and I’ll often go with other patterns to fill up my fly boxes faster. That said, it is worth a tie and can definitely catch the attention of fish and help trigger bites!
