My tools: https://lightpainting.store My tutorials: https://lightpainting.art That is probably my trickiest picture ever :) My goal was to do a perfect natural fade-in / fade-out. It’s a bit hard to explain but basically, each camera is taking a 2 seconds exposure one after the other. We set a delay of 30ms between each camera. As I need the first frame to be fully black, I have to wait for 2 seconds before turning on the flashlight, and that means that the first image is black, and the second camera gets 30ms of light during the 2 seconds exposure. It’s only at camera number 68 that I get a full 2 seconds of light. Then it goes on until I turn off the flashlight, near the end of the 3 full spins. The exact duration of what we created is 10.8 seconds (0.03s x 120 cameras x 3 spins), but the playback is 15 seconds (360 images @ 24 fps) In case you missed it, we introduced this tool in Episode 73: • Ligth-painting with a piece of trash - Tub... Everything we do is lit by hand, one frame at a time. Light-painting for us is a lifestyle, and this is what we share with our audience. The purpose of the Tube Stories is to bring a brighter and more colorful night to whoever is going to cross our path. Our work has been presented on the BBC, CNN, MTV, VICE, TEDx and much more. --- About Eric Paré (Instagram: @ericparephoto & @theXangle) Eric Paré is an artist-entrepreneur.
