Join me as I fly Japan Airlines’ brand-new First Class on the A350-1000 from London Heathrow (LHR) to Tokyo Haneda (HND)! This was an experience I’ve been dreaming of, and JAL’s latest First Class seat exceeded all expectations. 🚀 EXCLUSIVE FIRST CLASS EXPERIENCE Check-in at Heathrow Terminal 3 was seamless, with access to the British Airways Galleries First Lounge before boarding. Stepping onto the A350-1000, I was welcomed into one of the most spacious and private First Class cabins in the world, featuring just six luxurious suites in a 1-1-1 layout. 🛏️ THE SEAT – A NEW STANDARD IN FIRST CLASS The Safran-designed suite is incredibly spacious, with a bed width of 123 cm and length of 203 cm—one of the largest First Class beds in aviation. The 43-inch 4K IFE screen, built-in headrest speakers, wireless charging, personal wardrobe, and sliding privacy doors make this seat feel like a private jet in the sky. 🍣 WORLD-CLASS DINING Japan Airlines is known for its incredible inflight meals, and this flight was no exception. I chose the kaiseki-style Japanese menu, featuring Michelin-level dishes like Wagyu Beef Sukiyaki with Truffle, fresh sashimi, and delicate kaiseki small plates. I also tried premium Japanese sake, the exclusive Queen of Blue tea, and JAL’s signature SKY TIME drink. 💤 SLEEP & COMFORT With plush bedding, custom mattress pads, and a spacious sleeping area, JAL’s First Class offers one of the best sleeping experiences in the sky. However, the cabin was a bit warm, which could have been improved with individual air nozzles. 🎬 IFE & AMENITIES The massive 43-inch screen delivers stunning 4K quality, but it can only be controlled by the seat’s touchscreen tablet, which took some time to get used to. The amenity kit from Heralbony included essentials like a dental kit, eye mask, mouthwash, and even a JAL-branded charging cable. 💎 FINAL THOUGHTS – JAL VS ANA? The service was flawless, the hard product was revolutionary, and the food was among the best I’ve ever had on a plane. Compared to ANA’s The Suite First Class, I think Japan Airlines takes the lead in both hard and soft product.
