Leaders of Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic stood on the border of their three countries to celebrate the new partnership before flying to Dublin together. "The division of the continent and the separation of its citizens has finally been ended," said German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder. "The people of central and eastern Europe are once again part of the European family," Schroeder said as he downed a beer with his Polish and Czech counterparts.
