I am unfamiliar with surgery with the extent of my personal experience being the outpatient amputation of a to on my left foot. Having limited points of reference, I did copious research. I went to a general practitioner and was referred to a surgeon. I researched this surgeon and others who offered care for this same hernia and below was my communication back to my GP: Dr. ____, I appreciate your help, any guidance and referral in this matter with my inguinal hernia but I have altered my course. After taking the time to review Dr. ______, to whom I was referred. I found him to be one of the worst rated on several websites for doctors in the area doing this type of surgery. More than a few people have taken the time to leave explicit remarks on how poor his demeanor is, with one on google going into great detail on a surgical mishap that cost him and his wife a great deal of money and misery with a "botched surgery" that had to be repaired by another team. Of the 10 most reviewed on the Health Grades site, his score was the lowest. I have tried to be thorough as this is both important and confusing to me. I have opted to seek a consultation with one of the highest rated on the site, Dr, ____ _____. I of course, know none of these people, but the last thing I'd want is to pay the $260 fee just to meet Dr. ____ and be made to feel less than comfortable. Thank you again and I'll keep you posted.
