Around 1:10 a.m. on February 24, two Chinese citizens in their 40s broke into a pagoda storing ashes at a temple in Jeju City, South Korea, and stole six urns. They buried the stolen urns in two separate spots on a mountain about five kilometers from the temple, with three urns in each location. Later that morning, they left South Korea, traveled through Hong Kong, and headed directly to Cambodia. The next day, they sent a video of the stolen urns to the temple and demanded a $2 million ransom for their return.
