The town is located in the Tarn department of the Occitanie region in the south of France. The town was originally called “Cordes”, but the French name sur ciel, meaning "above the sky", was added because the village appears to float in the sky. It is a beautiful village with a medieval atmosphere that makes you feel as if time has stopped. I have been there once when I first came to France. I visited again because I wanted to see the scenery in summer.
