Buy it on Amazon - http://lon.tv/n5yc5 (affiliate link) Having looked at nearly all of the current crop of Chromebooks from the major brands, there's very little that separates them - especially at the sub $300 level. Spend a little more than $300, however, and you'll see some differentiation on features. The IPS display on the Toshiba Chromebook 2 is sharper, crisper, and has better color definition than other 13 inch Chromebooks near its price point. It also has better viewing angles so the image won't fade when not looking directly at the display. This model also features 4 gigabytes of RAM for keeping things running smoothly when more windows are open. Now that some select Android apps are making their way onto ChromeOS this might become more important moving forward. Beyond that this Chromebook performs about the same as other Chromebooks in this current crop do - adequately. The Intel Bay Trail processor is designed to provide longer battery life, but it comes at the expense of performance. So older Chromebooks like the Acer C720 will perform noticeably faster, but have much less battery life as a result. Toshiba also makes a lower cost Chromebook in the same form factor with a lower resolution display and half the RAM for $249. In short, if you're looking for a Chromebook the slight premium for the nicer display and additional memory is worth it.
