BSI First Biodiversity Summer Day at the Belize Zoo!

Biodiversity comes from two words: Bio meaning life and Diversity meaning variety. So, Biodiversity is all the different kinds of living things you will find in one area—the different plants, animals, and even fungi and microorganisms that work together to maintain balance and support life in an ecosystem and on the planet. BSI’s Sustainability Department, in partnership with The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center, takes children of cane farmers on a zoo trip to explore Belize’s biodiversity through active observation and participation. This video captures the energy, catalogues the learning, and shares the excitement of the children as they explore Belize’s biodiversity at the Belize Zoo through jaguar talks, Virtual Reality (VR) nature adventures, and other fun and educational activities.
