I think this was my first visit to Petersburg in 2026. Was good to get there while there was still snow on the ground. Enjoy! 2-5-26 (0:00): Passing CSX SD40-2 8232 (ex-SBD/L&N 3604) at Acca Yard on the way. (0:09): While driving Squirrel Level Road toward Collier, unfortunately, CSX I136 was already passing by. I decided to try to chase him South. While passing Collier, I caught up to his mid-DPUs. (0:15): I barely caught the front end of the train at Reams. All I could tell was two GEVOs at the head end, but that's it. The mid-DPUs are ES40DCs 5310 and 5245. (2:43): While driving back to Collier, we pass CSX L251 working with two GP40-2s. GP40-2 6059 (ex-B&O 4159) GP40-2 6972 (ex-CSX 4413/CR 3308) (3:09): Amtrak P080 bypasses Collier. ALC-42 302 (3:34): Amtrak P092 NB with another Phase VI Charger. ALC-42 303 P42DC 201 (4:02): Amtrak P138 comes off the Norfolk Connector. This engine has the same number as Big Mac from The Full Bucketniers. P42DC 61 (4:55): CSX L251 pulls off the hamburger track and beyond North Collier before reversing into the hot dog track. Not long after, Amtrak P089 speeds by. CSX L251 GP40-2 6059 (ex-B&O 4159) GP40-2 6972 (ex-CSX 4413/CR 3308) Amtrak P089 ALC-42 330 (13:44): CSX M410 NB. ES44AH 758 ES44AH 850 (17:49): Amtrak P079 SB. ALC-42 366 (18:14): CSX L251 pulls back off the hot dog track and reverses back into North Collier, while Amtrak P090 races by. No Phase VII Amfleets on this train today. CSX L251 GP40-2 6059 (ex-B&O 4159) GP40-2 6972 (ex-CSX 4413/CR 3308) Amtrak P090 P42DC 13 (23:49): Catch of the day. NS 276 comes East with a BNSF GEVO leader and one of the new OCS painted SD70ACes as a mid-DPU. The new OCS paint scheme is kind of interested, but I still wholeheartedly believe that it will never hold a candle to when NS used the F9s on their OCS trains. BNSF ES44C4 6602 NS SD70ACe 1230 (Birmingham; mid-DPU) NS AC44C6M 4800 (ex-C44-9W 9655; mid-DPU) (25:45): CSX L251 switches its train in the yard. (27:54): NS V62 runs under Vaughan Road nonstop. A little surprise, he's running long hood forward today, in true style of the N&W, the railroad that owned these very tracks before NS. Reminds me of when I caught V18 here with a LHF GEVO back in 2016. AC44C6M 4707 (ex-C44-9W 9453) ES44AC 8016 (29:05): CSX I031 rolls South as the sun starts to set. Hey!!! You forgot the juice!!! Oh wait, he's empty. ES44AH 836 ET44AH 3313 (35:40): We finish the evening with the passage of Amtrak P091, and CSX L227 shoving off for the Bellwood Sub. Amtrak P091 ALC-42 346 ALC-42 314 CSX L227 GP40-2 6059 (ex-B&O 4159) GP40-2 6972 (ex-CSX 4413/CR 3308) (38:37): Slideshow of the trains and some horses.
