The plaintiff agreed to rent an apartment from the defendant. She says she gave the defendant a deposit but then changed her mind because she claims the defendant tried to extort her. She’s suing for return of security deposit, storage fees, rent fees, lost wages, childcare, dog watching, and pain and suffering. The defendant argues the plaintiff can’t just change her mind out of nowhere after giving the deposit. He took the apartment off the market, so he doesn’t owe her anything.
