My S-Video cable arrived today, modded for PAL N64 consoles to reduce the huge brightness issue that plagues most S-Video cables for PAL consoles. To my dismay, my AverTV Capture HD card would not pick up the display or the sound with the S-Video cable. To make matters worse I have no S-Video capable TV so I assumed it was a cable issues. After about an hour of trying to get it to work I decided to test my composite cables (which worked before on the capture card), again no signal. Then I tried the Gamecube with composite and S-Video, no signal for both. And finally I tried composite for the Mega Drive and again no signal. I fully uninstalled my capture device drivers/software and did a full reinstall of them. It worked! My device picked up my S-Video signal immediately! It looks hugely superior over my composite signal which was woeful. I am definitely very happy with the cable and highly recommend it to anyone who would like to output a higher quality for their Nintendo 64. S-Video cable: http://www.robwebb1.plus.com/n64/n64.htm
