**UPDATE Nov. 6, 2022** - I've had many questions about excessive ticking noise coming from one or both cylinders. Please carefully check the camshaft lobes for excessive wear, there is a video and service bulletin addressing this issue (due to over-hardened rocker arms). Video: • BMW R1200 GSA Cam and Rocker Arm Failure . and service bulletin: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j... ============================= This is a detailed video instruction on checking the valve clearances and shim change on both cylinders on a 2016 BMW R1200GS boxer engine. We show every step from removing the engine guards, valve cover, checking clearances with feeler gauges, calculating new shim thickness, removing the camshafts and shims, and re-assembly showing all torque values and other insights all along the way.
