She goes through every detail of what's required to file for divorce and how long the process will take each step of the way. It takes as little as 3 months to get a divorce, but most cases take around 1 year to finalize. If you file for divorce and the other party DOES NOT respond within 20 days of receiving the paperwork, they are defaulted and you can receive a determination from the judge within as little as 3 months after filing. If you file for divorce and the other party DOES respond, your case will go to mediation. If mediation does not work, a judge will make the final call on the case and the process could take as little as 6 months and as long as 2 years.
