New in 2020: Nobiviac Myxo-RHD Plus is effective against RHDV1, RHDV2, and Myxomatosis, and is not produced in live animals, but in vitro (in a lab, in cell cultures). This vaccine is not currently eligible for import into the US because it contains a live Myxomatosis virus so would require evaluation under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and because of export prohibitions by the manufacturer, MDS Animal Health, to the US and Canada. _______________________ Oxbow Animal Health I am happy to help! Per our conversation, below are some resources that might be helpful for you and your clients: The latest RHDV2 updates courtesy of our veterinarian on staff, Dr. Micah Kohles, can be found on our blog at https://www.oxbowanimalhealth.com/blog. We will be posting updates periodically to this platform as the outbreak/disease response progresses (including transparency of our own procurement process) so feel free to share this with your clients as you wish. I hope you continue to be safe and well as we push on through this pandemic. All the best to you and the little ones you care for! Best, Mikki Nienhueser Oxbow Animal Health ___________________ Small Pet Select We understand your concern for the RHDV2 virus; we’ve been keeping an eye on the reports. At this time, all of our hay comes from Ellensburg, Washington, known for really high-quality Timothy. Our CEO, Bill, is always on the lookout for top-notch hay for our customers and their fur babies. We’re all hands on deck at Small Pet Select. Our hay is harvested through summer and early fall, and as soon as it comes out of the field, it’s wrapped and protected. In our area, 1st cutting is harvested early June, 2nd cut in July, and the 3rd cut is late August or early September. The hay is dried and cured, then distributed to the warehouses where it remains until we box and deliver to the customer. So, we’re not yet selling 2020 hay. All hay our customers are now receiving is last year’s hay.
