Moving into autumn with a set of exercises to support the heart and lungs. I'm sorry if you've seen intrusive ads in the middle of my videos! I don't earn from them and they're not under my control until this channel is significantly bigger - as soon as I can, I will turn them off. You can help me get there quicker by subscribing and watching my videos. Thanks! :) You can watch this routine ad-free here: https://vimeo.com/amandaflood/heartlu... KNOCKING ON THE GATE OF LIFE Brings new life to the whole system. Keep the arms relaxed and free, so that they swing out with the turn of the waist. The fists are also relaxed, knocking on the Gate of Life acupoint on the lower back, on the belly and the lung points at the front of the shoulders. PUMPING ARMS A medical qigong exercise that clears old and stagnant energy and opens the lungs, filling the body with oxygen. Inhale as the arms rise to the heavens and exhale as they drop to the earth. The knees follow the hands - when the hands are lifting, the knees straighten, and when the hands are falling, the knees bend. SHAKING Shake out any tensions or tightness. :) OPEN THE CHEST Take a long inhale as the arms reach to the sky and open outwards to the sides and slightly behind you. The chest expands and fills with breath. Then turn the palms towards the earth and exhale, letting the chest and shoulders relax completely as the arms come down. HEART CLEANSING From Daisy Lee and Garri Garripoli's Organ Cleansing routine. Place the hands at the heart. Then inhale as they sweep outwards and open. Exhale, bringing them back to the heart. LUNG CLEANSING Again from the Organ Cleansing practice. Imagine the hands are polishing the inside of a metal sphere. Inhale as the hands rise and exhale as they fall. GRASP THE SPARROW'S TAIL A tai chi move that regulates the lung and large intestine meridians. The weight shifts forwards and backwards with the hands. Start with the weight on the front leg, and imagine your hands are holding a ball of energy. Inhale and pull the hands back as the weight shifts to the back leg. Put the palm of the rear hand on the inside wrist of the front hand. Exhale and squeeze, pushing the front arm forwards as the weight shifts to the front leg. Then inhale, separating the hands, and pull chi back and down through the back leg into the earth. Exhale and push both hands forwards, allowing the chi to flow out through the palms. WU WEI STANCE Literally the 'Do Nothing' pose. A breathing space before the next, more strenuous pose. BALANCE THE HEART Grounding, strengthening, and really helps with balance. The weight is on the ball of the front foot, the Bubbling Well point that brings fresh vitality into the system. The back foot should be so light that you could lift it from the ground. When you can do that, you know you're in the right position. Exhale, releasing old or stuck energy into the earth as the hands circle down to the ground. Inhale and draw fresh energy up to the heart. CLEAR THE LUNGS Inhale, coming up on the balls of the feet. Grasp the thumb of one hand with the other. The thumb is the end point of the lung meridian. Exhale and relax down, releasing any old energy or stuck 'stuff' down into the earth. COMPLETION One hand over the other on the belly, allowing your body to integrate the chi you've generated during your practice. If you enjoyed this video, great! Please do like, share and subscribe.
