The Houghall campus is one of the leading institutions for studying a wide breadth of land-based courses. [music] SALLY HUDSON: Houghall is a leading provider of land-based education and training in the North East. We have some of the best resources, some of the best facilities around. Our specialist areas include arboriculture, horticulture, floristry, animal care, equestrian studies and foundation studies in that area. And year on year we've improved the facilities, we've improved the resources so that our students get the best possible deal. The facilites on the course are great, the library's great, the computers or any information you might need. . The lecturers have helped us both with our college work and personal life as well. You get to mix with quite a lot of the students on the course and there's a lot of different people from different backgrounds wanting to do different things. I think the lecturers are great, you can have a laugh with them but they're also serious. They've got a great safety record here so that you don't muck about but you can have a good laugh with them. They're just great to get on with. SALLY HUDSON: We have some of the best staff in the region many who are industry qualified, have really good experience of working within the sector and teaching within the sector for many many years. We see ourselves developing many other curriculum areas out of our Houghall campus given it's proximity to Durham and accessibility on transport links and we'd really like to see that as our main growth area. Houghall College is seen as the main provider of land based education and training within the north east. We are well recognised within industry and many industries choose us as their first choice of training provider.
