Hi, I'm JQ We got sick and went to the nearest hospital in this small city in China. I grew up in an ordinary family in a small Chinese city. The way we took care of each other and communicated at home while being sick is probably a true reflection of what it's like for many only child family of my generation. When we went to the hospital, there was also a clash between what my mom trusted and what I believed was the right way to do things, and that really shows the generational gap between us. My parents' generation grew up in a time when medical resources were scarce and material goods were lacking, so they tend to trust personal connections more. Our generation, on the other hand, grew up in an era of rapid technological development in China , we trust rules and expertise.
