Hello and thank you for stopping by my channel "Moving on the Mat with Dana" . With Valentines day around the corner and February being heart and stroke month, I thought it was a good time to do some Yoga for the Heart Chakra and lungs. For todays video we will be doing a number of poses to open the chest, shoulders and heart chakra as well as some pranayama to expand the lungs and improve our deep breathing. We will begin simply in Downward Facing Dog to stretch out and warm up the whole body, then rest in child pose. We will do a few more downward facing dogs ending in some side planks for strength, cobra for some back bending and then ending in a Deep Forward bend for forward bending and another back bend with Dancer Pose From here we will come into Warrior One, Two and Twist and then Side Angle pose. For a bit of a challenge we will try Bound Side Angle pose. After this we will come to the ground for a deep resting lunge, followed by Crescent Moon Lunge, Deep Side Angle Pose and Deep Side angle Twist. After this we will come into some back bends including Locust Lifts, Sphinx pose, Bow Pose and finally Camel pose (with the assistance of the wall). Finally we will return to the ground for some sitting stretches and simple twists followed by some deep breathing to relax the body and improve our lung capacity(Extended Inhalation).
