**Check out my upcoming video where I will break down measure by measure comparing Joe B's last year's 12/5/23 Little Wing solo with this year's 12/17/24 solo. Both solos were performed with the same band at the Bitter End in NYC. ** *Note: IMO after last year's epic solo on "Little Wing" (link below), I think Joe was just "holding back too much" this year - I believe see was very self conscious over last year's "self-indulgence". One year later, Joe Bonamassa performs "Little Wing" LIVE once again at the Bitter End in NYC on Tuesday December 17, 2024 with Oz Noy (guitar), Will Lee (bass) and Steve Ferrone (drums). Last year on 12/5/23, Joe BONAMASSA's guitar solo on "Little Wing" garnered so much attention, here is what I wrote........ "Joe improvises the strings with amazing feel on this classic jammer. Bonamassa plays a beautiful heartfelt solo of the Hendrix classic with rich dynamics in the middle that lasts over 2 minutes. In the latter part of the solo Joe kicks in that overdrive pedal and soars - using his classic burgandy red Gibson SG through a Fender Twin amp". This year on 12/17/24, Bonamassa once again improvised a new solo to "Little Wing". Obviously, this solo does not compare - but I'm curious why do you think, was Joe intentionally holding back NOT to step on the orhers (if you even agree). However, THIS TIME, he brought his 1960 Vintage Cherry Sunburst Les Paul (as opposed to playing a Strat last year), and many of you mentioned in the comments that last year he used a Klon. This year I noticed he brought zero external pedals - other than using the amp pedal between clean and dirty. I would love to hear your thoughts about this solo - HOW DOES THIS ONE COMPARE TO LAST YEAR'S "LITTLE WING" SOLO? • Joe Bonamassa - "Little Wing" LIVE @ The B... Leave some comments below. This is the 123rd installment of my "Great Performances" series, where I upload my own personal LIVE footage from past concerts of great musical artists I've covered either through written articles and/or direct interviews.
