You should come to my house and rest. Leo: Thank you, that’s very kind. But I’m worried. If I stay here too long, will I ever be able to return to my own time? If I change anything here, it might affect the future! Old Man: (Walking toward a small cabin) I don't understand your "future," but I do know that the sun is setting. It’s dangerous to be out here at night. Does that glowing slate you’re holding have magic in it? Leo: It’s not magic, sir. It’s science. It's called a smartphone. But without electricity, it’s basically a piece of glass and metal. It’s going to die in a few hours anyway. Old Man: "Electricity"? "Die"? You speak of objects as if they are alive. Here, we rely on the moon and oil lamps. Life is simpler, though perhaps harder than your time. Leo: I can see that. I’ve been complaining about slow internet my whole life, but now I don’t even know how to start a fire. It’s a reality check. Tell me, is the world here better?
