This week on our little French homestead, we face one of those weeks where everything that can go wrong… does. But somehow, between the mud, the chaos, and the small wins, we always find a way to laugh and keep going. The biggest focus this week: progress on the barn renovation. We’re finishing the last pieces of the roof structure and pouring the final concrete forms. It’s messy, heavy work but every step brings us closer to turning this 200-year-old barn into four cozy apartments for future guests. We also start transforming a small dark window into a beautiful larger one, letting the morning sun pour into what will soon be a bright bedroom. In between the construction chaos, we take a walk through the forest with our daughter and dogs, soaking in the colors and smells of autumn in the French countryside. It’s muddy boots, tired hands, but full hearts, the kind of week that reminds us why we chose this life.
