Claude CoWork First Try: AI That Works Like a Coworker on Your Mac

I just tested Anthropic's brand new CoWork feature, and here's my honest take after 25 years in IT consulting. CoWork is Claude Code for non-developers. It launched on 12 January 2026 and runs locally on your Mac, working through tasks like an actual colleague. In my test, I asked it to create a proposal about Agentive. What happened: → It browsed our website using computer use → Asked clarifying questions (audience, format, detail level) → Showed real-time progress tracking → Delivered a complete Word document The whole experience felt less like chatting with AI and more like delegating to a team member. How does this compare to MyAgentive? CoWork runs inside a Linux VM sandbox on your laptop. This makes it more secure, but also more limited in what it can access and do. (No Access to your CLI, your API) MyAgentive runs directly on your machine with full system access. More powerful, but requires you to know what you're doing. Also, you can access it from Telegram or VPN/Web UI. If you understand the risks and want maximum capability, MyAgentive is the way to go. If you want a safer, guided experience, more official and better UI to use, CoWork is a great starting point.
