Note: ****since bird flu issues have made some cats sick from raw chicken, I now completely cook all chicken meat, livers, and eggs!! Chicken and livers cooked to 165 degrees F. Make sure you're using the smallest plate on your meat grinder (smallest holes) because completely cooked bones ground up can be sharp choking hazards if larger. This recipe is intended only for cats with no major health issues. Recipe from Dr. Lisa Pierson (of catinfo.org). Please check out the website, so much great info! I forgot to mention in video: ideally cat food should not be in freezer longer than 4 months for optimal nutrients. Cat food should not be THAWED in fridge for over 48-72 hours. The containers I use feed my 3 cats for 2 days, so I take a container from freezer and place in fridge after 1st feeding from the current container and that timing works out while it thaws perfectly. When you feed raw you will notice cats poop is way smaller and hardly has any smell, and they will be passing more water- that's what we want! More water through urinary tract = healthier. You will also notice cats have more energy, beautiful silky coats, and they will lose that flabbiness, they get more lean. Dry food absolutely does not help dental health, HUGE myth. Look at catinfo.org to see her addition of gizzards to recipe (in place of some of the meat) to help work to clean teeth, also she has a lot of info about brushing their teeth. I've also been giving them very high quality dehydrated whole chicken hearts every few days and that helps as well. Using everything I show in the video the cost ends up being about 50 cents /day/cat to feed. I would really prefer to be using better quality chicken (no hormones, no antibiotics, organic), and if I was using that the cost would be more like a dollar/day/cat.
