Two mystery Masters of the Universe figures have surfaced at Walmart and they definitely weren’t shown at Toy Fair. One is being dubbed “Gold Skeletor,” and the other is a brand new Scare Glow in the upcoming Chronicles line. First up is the 5.5” Core line Skeletor discovered in Arizona and shared by Discovering Pandora. The packaging, the black and gold aesthetic, the Alcala-inspired artwork, and the “Revenge of Skeletor” branding all scream something special. It fits the new kid-focused Core body style we saw at Toy Fair and its taller, more upright proportions compared to Origins’ classic squat vintage build. A brand new figure labeled Masters of the Universe Chronicles and it’s not movie-based. This Scare Glow appears to feature the new articulation system (labeled “Deluxe Articulation”), sculpted protruding bones, and possibly compatibility in scale with Masterverse. Early comparisons show him standing very close to Masterverse Revelation Scare Glow, raising questions about how this new 6.5” scale truly fits. The packaging artwork, directed by Roy Juarez with art by Simon Eckert, continues the tradition of stunning MOTU box art.
