Benupada Matha is otherwise known as Gadi Brahma, is not so famous though it can be called as a hidden spiritual treasure of Odisha. Five saints lived here one after another and they did not die a natural death, rather they vanished at their will and converted into soil and light. They are believed to come from the heaven. Their heavenly power and their presence still felt at Benupada Matha. These saints or Mahapurusa are Baidhar Das, Dinakrusna Das, Artratrana Das, Madhab Das and Niladri Das. This is also known as Kshyatriya Guru Gadi and most favourite place of Lord Balabhadra of Puri temple. Baidhare Das or Bai Das was the founder of Gadibrahma Matha at Benupada. Other saints were followers of Bai Das. Farmers of nearby village offer their first harvest to this gadibrahma matha. Bibhuti of this Benupada matha used by the devotees to cure their diseases and solve their problems.
