Arguably the year’s toughest test is upon us. GARLAND LODGE AND GOLF RESORT MAKES ITS APPEARANCE! The facility where I did my second internship! There are a staggering FOUR 18 hole courses here but today we are taking on the toughest one of them all. It’s the king of Michigan golf: The Monarch! At 6650 yards and a 73.1 Rating/140 Slope from the blue tees, this may very well be the toughest course I’ve ever played on the channel. I have shot 80 on the nose three times during my three month long tenure at Garland but have not broken through with a sweet, sweet 70’s round. While this course is tough, that doesn’t mean we can’t make it look easy. The new Apex Pro irons had a very strong showing at Thunder Bay and hitting some greens on some longer par fours and the par threes could be what gets us over the line today. It was nothing short of an honor to work for this facility and I can’t thank pro and Matt and his team enough for taking the time out of his day to make me a well rounded professional both on and off the course. This round was the culmination of all that hard work. PLEASE let it not be a flop. Enjoy this one guys and to all the FSU college students tuning in, have a great spring break!
