Frobel’s gifts is a series of educational materials carefully designed by Friedrich Fröbel to provide children with opportunities to learn a wide range of concepts through directed play. These gifts were central to his philosophy of the "kindergarten," which aimed to educate children by allowing them to discover analogies between the materials and the natural world, as well as abstract concepts. The Sequence of the Gifts Froebel prepared 20 gifts in total, which were given to children in a specific order based on their developmental progress. • The First Gift: Consisted of rainbow-colored woolen balls on strings, used to teach infants about color, size, and motion. • The Second Gift: Included a wooden sphere, cube, and cylinder, along with a stick and string, to impart ideas of form, stability, and movement. • The Third Gift: A large cube divided into eight smaller cubes, used to teach mathematical concepts like halves, quarters, and eighths. • The Fourth Gift: A cube divided into eight oblong prisms, helping children understand patterns and building techniques. • The Fifth and Sixth Gifts: More complex sets of cubes and prisms (including diagonally divided pieces) for advanced construction, patterns, and teaching numbers. • The Seventh Gift: Sets of square and triangular tablets used for exercises in geometry and mosaic work
