Prince and the New Power Generation 'The Morning Papers' live during the ACT I 1993 American tour Over the years Prince has been featured in many a news broadcast. Usually the tv networks only showed snippets of concert footage, with other networks showing slightly different footage from those same concerts. Our goal with our 'fan edits' is to compile all these snippets and create a video that's as complete as possible. In March 1993 Prince and the New Power Generation embarked on what was Prince’s first US concert tour in five years. Billed as ‘ACT I’ they performed a stage version of the fantasy rock soap opera ‘Three Chains O’ Gold’. Several US tv stations were permitted to film a few segments of these shows. In most cases the recorded footage consisted of snippets from ‘The Morning Papers’ and a somewhat larger portion of ‘Blue Light’. For this video we combined all available tv-footage of 'The Morning Papers' to compile the most complete possible version as it was performed in 1993. The first part of this video mainly consists of footage from the Entertainment Tonight report about the Atlanta, Georgia shows from that same tour, with some higher quality footage from MTV News aded where possible. The gaps were filled with footage filmed by a fan in New York. All rights belong to their respective owners. The footage is used here to preserve a piece of pop cultural history.
