In this video, you’ll see both cars in action, a bit of comparison, plenty of slides, spins, and the real atmosphere of a rainy track day. After two timed laps, it turned out that the Miata was a full 8 seconds faster — mostly thanks to its setup and Micheline PS5 tires. We’ll also be doing a dry-surface test in the future to see how both cars compare in ideal conditions. Driving impressions The Subaru BRZ felt much easier to control in slides compared to the Miata. The MX-5, with its short wheelbase, does not forgive mistakes — if you’re late with steering or throttle correction, the chance of spinning is very high. The BRZ, on the other hand, holds slides almost “with one hand and one foot” — the longer wheelbase and strong mid-range torque let you chain corners together effortlessly.
