Yet her error arose from the noblest and most sublime feelings of the human heart; she deliberately sacrificed her life for her country's purest love. Her clarity of feelings towards this man would lead to having to atone for her error by public execution. Yet her displayed heroism surely entitled her to the admiration of future generations.
