Naseem Shah and Faheem Ashraf soon joined the party and ripped apart the South Africa batting line-up. Mirza finished with 3/14. Naseem returned with 2/28, while Faheem ended with 4/23. The pacers took 9 out of the 10 wickets to fall. Abrar Ahmed was the only exception as the spinner grabbed a wicket amidst the speedsters. Dewald Brevis struck 25 off 16 balls and was the only batter to get into double figures for the tourists as they were bowled out for just 110 in 19.2 overs. Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub gave Pakistan a flying start, adding 54 runs, bossing the powerplay. Corbin Bosch managed to break the partnership by trapping Farhan for a 23-ball 28 just after the field restrictions. Ayub kept going at the other end and clubbed an unbeaten 71 off just 38 balls. Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 11 off 18 balls as the hosts cruised home inside 14 overs. Babar was out for a duck in the first T20I. He is coming back after a long time in the shortest format. He needed to spend a bit of time in the middle, and there was no pressure of the required run rate. In the process, he surpassed Rohit Sharma to become the leading run-scorer in T20I history.
